Call for papers: "Applications in Space Robotics, Satellite Systems and Communications"

For a special issue of the International Journal of Space Science and Engineering.

The aim of the special issue will be to highlight the latest advances, problems and challenges and to present the latest research results in the field of space robotics, satellite systems and communication with a link to scientific research and its practical implementation. Space robotics is a field of robotics which is concerned with the development of general purpose machines which are capable enough to survive, explore and to provide services like assembly, construction, maintenance, etc. in outer space. The function that a robot can perform can be categorised into two types; one which is computer operated and programmed for a specific purpose, and another, which requires a human to actually control it. A complex system of robots can only perform their assigned task if supported by an effective satellite communication network which would enable flexible, sustainable, and affordable human-robotic space exploration.

In the past few decades there has been an interesting rise in the application of space robotics, satellite systems and communications. The primary objective of this special issue will be to bring forward thorough, in-depth, and well-focused development in the field of space robotics, satellite systems and communications.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the International Conference on Recent Advances and Applications in Computer Engineering (RAACE2017) , but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.
