Call for papers: "Sustainable Entrepreneurship"

For a special issue of the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management.

Sustainable entrepreneurship is a growing and important area of business management that enables firms, individuals and governments to utilise innovative ideas that have an environmental impact. One of the fastest growing areas of both entrepreneurship and innovation is around the area of sustainability and this is embedded in increasing number of research studies about this topic. There is more interest in areas of sustainable entrepreneurship from the circular economy to renewable energy (Ratten and Welpe, 2011). This has driven more government funding and private business interest into sustainable entrepreneurship. Despite the growth of sustainable entrepreneurship as a research field of study there are still gaps in the literature that merit further research interest.

This special issue will focus on subjects that advance our understanding of sustainable entrepreneurship. Papers should provide new insights regarding interdisciplinary perspectives about sustainable entrepreneurship. Research methodologies are inclusive of all types including conceptual papers, qualitative approaches, quantitative studies and mixed-methods.

Suitable topics include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Environmental management
  • Sustainable thinking and design planning
  • Social issues of entrepreneurship
  • Environmental innovations in the global economy
  • Natural environment and entrepreneurship
  • Sustainable innovation ecosystems
  • Community and social entrepreneurship
  • Emerging environmental technological trends
