Call for papers: "Advanced Manufacturing Technologies in the Industry 4.0"

For a special issue of the International Journal of Materials and Structural Integrity.

Currently many trends such as the internet of things (IoT), digital manufacturing and cyber-physical systems are considered as key elements of the definition and implementation of Industry 4.0. Manufacturing is a primordial factor in the world’s economy and has been experiencing a revitalisation in many countries (even the developing countries) in the last decade.

The aim of this special issue is to bring together the leading researchers of advanced manufacturing technology in the industry 4.0 and covers all aspects of advanced manufacturing including mechanical manufacturing, metallurgy and the material science, etc.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the International Conference on Computational Materials Science and Thermodynamic Systems (CCMST 2018), but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.

Suitable topics include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Global Manufacturing and Systems
  • Virtual design and manufacturing technology
  • Advanced manufacturing processes
  • Experiments about structural systems or materials
  • Sustainable and green manufacturing
  • Application of evolutionary computing techniques in manufacturing operations
  • Materials joining
  • material properties, metals, alloys, composites
  • Advanced Materials (Nanotechnology)
  • Micromanufacturing
  • Electronic components; service life; thermal conductivity
