Call for papers: "Randomised Heuristics for Communication Networks"

For a special issue of the International Journal of Metaheuristics.

The goal is to achieve a major understanding in hard combinatorial problems in Communication Networks. Potential contributions should clearly state the problem, main challenges and methodology. The authors should emphasise the effect of randomisation in their analysis. Greedy randomised heuristics, population-based heuristics, nature-inspired solutions, random algorithms and approximation algorithms are especially welcome.

Suitable topics include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Fibre optics communication
  • Wireless systems
  • Traffic engineering
  • Topological network design
  • Communication protocols
  • Resilience in software-defined networking
  • Network reliability
  • Performance evaluation of resilient networks
  • Robust network design for hostile environments
  • Cooperative systems
  • Content delivery networks
